Hi, I'm Katy.

I'm a photographer, marketer, cat mom, and owner of a vintage clock that is probably giving me radon poisoning.

I’m based in Dallas, where I photograph seniors, couples, families, and the occasional wedding. I like photographs that feel a little less like photographs and a little more like memories. The kind where someone is laughing at something that happened three seconds earlier, your hair is doing something you didn't approve of, or your mom is looking at you when you weren't paying attention.

Basically, I like the parts you can't really pose.

I’ve always been drawn to things that feel personal and imperfect. Vintage posters. Vinyl records. Books that have that old smell. Places known for the museum gift shop. Clothes that look better after you've owned them for five years. Probably why I ended up loving photography in the first place. There’s something about being able to take an ordinary moment and make sure it doesn’t disappear.

During a session, I'm probably going to make a joke, tell you where to put your hands, tell you that you look great even when you insist you don't (you do, I'm incapable of lying), and occasionally confusing my left and my right when directing you. My goal is for you to forget you're being photographed.

Because most people don't need to learn how to model. They just need someone to make them feel comfortable enough to stop thinking about the camera.

When I'm not taking pictures, I'm usually reading, traveling somewhere I'm  excited about, watching history documentaries, baking banana bread, hanging out with my nephew, writing google reviews (it's an art form) or convincing myself that buying another book is a perfectly reasonable decision.

So that's me.

I take pictures of people I like, in places I like, and try very hard to make the whole thing feel like you.
